Few batters in T20 cricket take the game on as relentlessly as Travis Head. He is an aggressive left-hander with a proven pedigree in big matches, as reflected by his match-winning centuries in the World Test Championship 2021-23 final and ODI World Cup 2023 final. He has carried that intent into the TATA IPL, striking at over 170 in the league and over 150 in T20Is. After a brief stint with RCB, Head found his true impact with Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2024. He hammered 567 runs in the season at a staggering strike rate of 191.55. As things stand before TATA IPL 2026, it is a record for most runs scored by a batter in an IPL season while going at a strike rate of 190-plus. That campaign included a century and a 16-ball fifty, the joint-fastest for SRH. At the top, his partnership with Abhishek Sharma has redefined powerplay batting. The duo holds the two highest powerplay scores in IPL history - 125/0 and 107/0 - underlining their threat factor from ball one. Head remains one of the most feared openers in the IPL heading into 2026.
